Whitehorse Oldtimers Hockey League

Registration for the 2025-2026 season is now open for new and existing players. 

 

Registration fees are $560 for a minimum of 42 games.  The CARHA insurance fee is included in this fee.

 

 

How to Register:

 

1. Complete the application form by 5:00 pm on Saturday August 31st, 2025 at  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd3YWVFyXOo8-N8wiYFvkenWLI0obGCnOYpfIGzBGswiINAIA/viewform?usp=pp_url. (Ensure you get an email confirming your application is received). CARHA waiver form to be filled out before you play -  team reps will supply these at your first game.

 

2.  Pay the league fees by emailing $560 to whitehorseohl@gmail.com (preferred method) OR drop off a cheque or cash to Crowe Mackay LLP,  Suite 200-303 Strickland St., Whitehorse Yukon OR mail a cheque (not cash) to PO Box 31375 - 211 Main St, Whitehorse, Yukon , Y1A 6K8.  Please ensure your payment is received before August 31 as applications will not be accepted if payment is not received. Cheques are to be made payable to Whitehorse Oldtimers Hockey League.

 

The Draft

 

1. The league will draft 135 skaters and 9 goaltenders onto 9 teams. The date, time and place of the draft are yet to be determined, but will be advised sometime prior.  For new players, it is not necessary to attend the draft but you can if you want.

 

2. To be eligible for the draft you must be age 35 prior to September 1, 2025, submiitted and application and paid the league fees in full.

 

3. Priority - First, players who were drafted onto a team last year who register by August 31st: Second, players who entered the league last year as a replacement player who register by August 31st; Third, players who have played in the league previously but not last season who register by August 31st; Fourth - all new players and late registrations, who will be prioritized by date the application is received.  Generally, the league has drafted  between 10 and 15 new players each year. If you don't make it into the draft all fees paid will be refunded and you will be placed onto a waitlist, as we tend to replace about 10 players due to injury or other reasons each season.

 

Ice Times

 

Games are on Wednesday at 8:30 pm and 10:00 pm, Thursdays at 8:00 pm and 9:30 pm and Sundays at 4:00 pm, 5:30 pm, 7:00 pm and 8:30 pm. The league is expected to start on Sunday September 28th, 2025.

 

Excessive Penalty Rule

Players who reach 30 minutes in penalties in one season including playoffs will receive a suspension.  Players who reach this threshold will have their threshold reduced by 5 minutes ( ie 25 minutes will receive a suspension) in subsequent years.
